Building Resiliency through Engagement in North Texas

Welcome to the North Texas Chapter of the Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP). ACP is a non-profit professional organization, which provides a forum for the exchange of experiences and information, for business continuity professionals, throughout a network of local chapters.

Founded in March of 1986, the North Texas Chapter is one of the oldest continuously meeting chapters, and among the largest by membership, serving the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding region.

Events are generally held on the first Tuesday of every month but may vary due to holidays or speaker schedules. Events are for current members and invited guests only.  If you aren't a member but want to attend one of our events, please contact us or consider joining the chapter.

One of our North Texas chapter members is seeking peer companies in the manufacturing sector for an informal benchmarking on disaster recovery (DR) and resiliency architectures, as well as related DR policy compliance practices. The goal is to identify and share best practices through collaborative, informal data sharing.

President's Address

May is a month of momentum. Spring is in full swing, and for many of us, it’s a time to transition from planning to action. In business resilience, this is the season to move forward with confidence and intention.

With hurricane season approaching and severe weather already impacting regions across the country, now is the time to ensure your teams are ready. Review your response plans, validate contact lists, and coordinate with emergency management partners. Consider conducting a weather-related tabletop exercise to identify any gaps and boost team confidence before summer begins.

May is also National Wildfire Awareness Month and Military Appreciation Month—both of which offer unique moments to reflect. Take time to assess wildfire risks, especially if your organization operates in vulnerable regions. And let’s not forget to thank the veterans and active-duty professionals who have shaped a culture of discipline, leadership, and preparedness—values that resonate deeply in our field.

Lastly, May is a great time to check in with your goals for the year. Are you tracking progress? Are your plans evolving with your organization’s needs? Use this month to refocus, re-engage, and reinvigorate your continuity efforts.

Here’s to making the most of May—pushing forward, staying prepared, and leading with resilience.
